Bourne Fire Chief Says "No Comment" To No-Confidence Vote

Bourne Fire Chief Norman Sylvester isn't responding to his firefighters voting no confidence against him. Sylvester is planning to retire in July but the no-confidence vote from the Bourne firefighters' union earlier this month wants him out sooner than that, citing concerns about safety and poor leadership. When asked for his reaction from the Bourne Enterprise, Sylvester said he has been advised not to comment and said that a statement will come from Town Hall at the appropriate time. Bourne Town Administrator Thomas Guerino said he needs to thoroughly study the allegations raised by the union in its letter, but that the town stands by its chief.
