Chilmark Selectmen have a named a new Harbor Master.
31 year old Ryan Rossi of West Tisbury will succeed current Harbor Master Dennis Jason Jr. at the end of June.
The Vineyard Gazette says Rossi grew up in Chilmark and served for two years as a Petty Officer at Coast Guard Station Menemsha.
Rossie, the son of former West Tisbury Police Chief Daniel Rossi, told Selectmen during his interview that his goals are to be a visible leader on the waterfront and maintain harmony between commercial fishermen and recreational boaters.
There was one other finalist for the position.
