Funds to Protect Cape & Islands Waterways Approved

When the Massachusetts State Senate Wednesday approved the Short-Term Rental Legislation it also gave thumbs up to the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund.

Cape and Islands State Senator Julian Cyr was successful in incorporating the language to establish the fund for Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties. The CCIWPF will be funded by an additional 2.75% occupancy excise tax in those municipalities that is applied on all short-term rental and traditional lodging accommodations equally.
