Nantucket Sewer System Not Out of Woods Yet

Officials on Nantucket say their patched up sewer system could be one winter storm away from failing again and sending raw sewage into Nantucket Harbor.

The Inquirer and Mirror reports Public Works Department Director, Rob McNeil made that assessment late last week.

McNeil says no estimate exists for how long it will take for repairs to be made to eliminate the threat of another breakdown of the system.

McNeil says officials have yet to find the precise cause for the catastrophic failure of the sewer main on January 4th.
