CC Commission Gives Green Light to Sports Complex

The Cape Cod Commission has given the green light to a proposed sports complex for Independence Park in Hyannis.

Total Athletics of Cape Cod, Inc. will be a $12 million, near 92-thousand square foot facility covering almost 8-1/2 acres. The Commission’s approval means the facility can proceed once it receives appropriate town permits as well as a zoning change prior to construction. The Barnstable Town Council will take up the zoning change request at its meeting tonight.

The sports complex will include a full-sized field with lights, a two-story athletic field house with indoor ice rink, indoor turf field, batting cages, fitness and training areas, swimming pool, restaurant, and a child care center, among other things. It will also become home to the Cape Cod Baseball League Museum.
