WXTK Better Health Report

Do you avoid getting a flu shot because you hate getting shots?

Well I was just reading about a new way of getting vaccinated that may really change things.

Instead of a shot, scientists have come up with a patch that you would put on your arm like a Band-aid instead.

The patch contains about 100 micro needles that are so small, they painlessly inject you with the vaccine.

After a few minutes, you remove the patch.

And you’re done!

According to researchers, the patches are low cost and safe.

They speculate that because the patch has a long shelf life and doesn’t need to be refrigerated, it could actually even be mailed to people and self administered.

If it catches on, they say it can be used to deliver other vaccines in a pain free way too.

That would be great news for babies!

This is Joan Trimble wishing you wellness.
