There was a Cape Cod connection with last night’s Academy Awards show in Hollywood.

“Life, Animated,” was up for best documentary. It is a story about Owen Suskind, who developed regressive autism at the age of 3 and stopped speaking. Owen reconnected with his family and others through watching animated Disney movies. Now 25, Owen lives and works on his own in Hyannis.

The documentary is based on a 2014 book by Owen’s dad, Pulitizer-prize winning journalist Ron Suskind.
