September 2, 2014 (HYANNIS) _ The most recent party enrollment numbers indicate that Cape Cod is still home to the most Republicans in the state.
Barnstable County has the highest concentration of those who claim allegiance to the GOP -- with nearly 16% of registered voters.
The secretary of state’s office says more than 53% of voters in Massachusetts have registered as unenrolled.
A little more than 35 percent are registered as Democrats while fewer than 11% are registered Republicans. There are more than 4.2 million registered voters in the state.
The primary election is scheduled for September 9th-- while the general election is November 4th.
