August 20, 2012 (MASHPEE) _ Governor Deval Patrick will be in Mashpee Thursday to celebrate the recent signing of a gaming compact with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

The agreement allows the tribe to move forward with plans to build a casino resort in Taunton.

Patrick will gather with tribal officials and elders Thursday afternoon at tribal headquarters in Mashpee.

The tribe is still working to get land in Taunton and Mashpee taken into federal trust.

The project will eventually include a casino, hotels, restaurants and retail shopping.
