Osterville company agrees to pay cleanup fine

July 27, 2012 (OSTERVILLE) _ An Osterville company agrees to pay up to $150,000 to settle allegations it failed to complete the cleanup of a contaminated property.

Attorney General Martha Coakley announced the agreement with Seaview Associates.

The a-g’s office says Seaview failed to clean up underground gasoline spills that leaked from underground storage tanks associated with a former gas station.

The property was later re-developed as a new gas station and two commercial properties.

The fines will fund the creation of a first of a kind residential underground storage tank removal revolving loan program for Barnstable County.
