January 14, 2013 (HYANNIS) _ A homeless man with outstanding warrants from Wareham was found early Monday morning in the library of the Sturgis West Charter High School on West Main Street in Hyannis.
An email sent to parents says the man left without incident and never spoke with any students.
He’s identified by Barnstable police as Robert Mclaughlin, 52, with a last known address as the homeless shelter.
Sgt. Sean Sweeney says Mclaughlin was arrested near the Paddock estaurant just after 7:30 on the outstanding warrants that include shoplifting and assault with a dangerous weapon.
The doors at Sturgis West open automatically in the morning to let students inside – but the email to parents says that time will now be set closer to the start of school.
