Orleans Police hosting "Fill a Cruiser" food drive
ORLEANS - The Orleans Police Department will be hosting a “Fill a Cruiser” event to benefit the Lower Cape Outreach Council which operates eight food pantries on the lower Cape. Our newest cruiser, a 2012 Ford Explorer ACO vehicle and our 1946 Chevrolet Fleetmaster will be parked at the entrance/exit to Shaw’s supermarket this Friday, March 30, 2012, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. During this drive, for every pound of food collected it will be matched by the Feinstein Foundation with $1.00. With this community effort we are hoping to receive thousands of pounds of food which will in turn provide LCOC with thousands of dollars to help keep their shelves sufficiently filled this spring.
Non perishable items may be donated to the members of the Orleans Police Department that will be posted at the event. In addition there will be a donation jar for those who wish to make a monetary contribution.
For further information, please contact Officer Duane Boucher or Detective Melissa Marshall at (508) 255-0117.
