The 130 seniors in attendance were served a gourmet meal featuring a trio of crostini; a frisee salad of blue cheese, pears and candied walnuts with a fig vinegarette; seafood Newburg in a puff pastry shell; wild rice, roasted asparagus and molten chocolate cake with raspberry coulis. In the second photo above, firefighters wheel out the first course to the delight of their guests.

In addition to the luncheon, the firefighters made sure that each lady in attendance received a red rose in the spirit of Valentine's Day.

Director of Senior Services Karen Marciante said, “These luncheons are a wonderful collaboration between the firefighters and the Senior Center. It enables our citizens to get to know the firefighters and see them in non-crisis situations.”

Local 2122 President Kevin Huck echoed Maciante’s sentiments, saying, “We like show support for our seniors and make ourselves more accessible to the people we serve.”
