Provincetown Police investigate reported hit & run PROVINCETOWN - Police are looking for a vehicle that reportedly hit a young woman in Provincetown late Tuesday evening.
Rescuers were called to Court Street not far from the Stop & Shop where a woman was suffering from a foot injury.
She was taken by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation.
Police were given a vague discription of a possible Lexus as the suspect vehicle.

Driver escapes injury in Route 6 rollover WEST BARNSTABLE - The driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck escaped serious injury after apparently losing control and crashing into the woods. The vehicle wound up on its side in the median strip near Exit 5 eastbound shortly after 10 p.m. The driver was treated and released at the scene. State Police are investigating the crash.
Two-car Harwich crash sends two to hospital HARWICH - A two-car crash at Sisson Road and South Street sent two people to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.
The crash Tuesday at 7 p.m., reportedly happened when the unidentified driver (standing next to the car) of this Toyota Celica, a delivery man for Domino's Pizza, slammed into the Saturn Aura SUV with five onboard that was stopped and taking a left turn onto South Street.
Harwich Police cited the pizza delivery driver with failure to stop and driving to endanger.

Route 28 closed by Yarmouth crash YARMOUTH - Route 28 in South Yarmouth was temporarily closed while officials worked a two vehicle crash shortly after 6:30 p.m. Two people were injured and taken to Cape Cod Hospital after the collision by Ocean Avenue. Yarmouth Police are investigating.

HYANNISPORT - Hyannis firefighters are called out after a military ordnance was found at a Hyannisport residence around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The family at 51 Hyannis Avenue was cleaning out their home when they found it.
The device was determined to be inert and moved into the backyard.
Following protocol the Mass State Police Bomb Squad was called to properly dispose of it. They removed the shell to a safe location and detonated it.

Crash causes gridlock in Orleans ORLEANS - A rollover crash at a key intersection in Orleans led to gridlock for a time Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened at the junction of Routes 6A and 28 by the old Howard Johnson's. Heavy day-tripper traffic was gridlocked until the wreckage was cleared. Two vehicles collided and rescuers had to extricate the driver from the rolled over car. 50-year-old Lottchen Shivers of Rhionebecjk, NY was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Orleans Police are investigating.
CWN followup: Sewer repairs, cleanup expected to be complete tonight PROVINCETOWN - Crews working around the clock have completed repairs to the broken sewer pipe on Dyer Street (right) that caused leaks and backups across town.
DPW Workers also disinfected the streets and catch basins during the day.
Workers continue to fan out across town checking individual valves to make sure they were not damaged. Water testing results are due back later today which will determine if beaches can be reopened (see original story here).
The malfunction made regional news with at least one Boston TV station sending a chopper down to cover it.
Town officials want to get the word out to prospective tourists that it is fully open for business.

Two vehicle rear-ender in Hyannis HYANNIS - At about 11:30 a.m. a Toyota Solary rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee on Iyannough Road (Route 28) by Mary Dunn Way in almost the same spot as a crash yesterday.
One person was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.
Barnstable Police are investigating.

Bicyclist struck by car in Hyannis HYANNIS - A bicyclist was injured after being struck by a car in Hyannis. It happened around 10:30 a.m. on Stevens Street. The victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. Barnstable Police are investigating.
Minor crash in West Yarmouth WEST YARMOUTH - Even on a side street, crashes happen in the summertime.
The one pictured at right, on Gleason Street in West Yarmouth around 10 a.m. Tuesday, sent one person to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
The Yarmouth Police are investigating.

Truro town hall sent into the dark ages TRURO - Turns out last weeks thunderstorms did more than drown a car in Truro. A lightning strike hit the town hall knocking out telephones and computers. Truro Town Hall is open but anyone needing to transact business will have to drive to the building. Technicians hope to have the problems fixed by the end of the week.
