CWN Exclusive: Deer rescued from well shaft in Truro

TRURO - A dramatic scene unfolded as Truro Police and Fire worked together to rescue a deer that had fallen into an old well shaft Sunday.
Fire Captain Shannon Corea carefully descended into the shaft off Marshall Lane. She was able to calm the deer and enable ropes to be put on the hind and front quarters.
Truro Firefighter David Gonsalves, and Truro Police Officer Jeremiah Valli assisted by Massachusetts Environmental Police Office Mike Camire were able to hoist the approximately 120 pound doe out of the pit.
After rescuers carefully removed the ropes the deer sprinted up the hill right past our camera and disappeared over the rise at the end of the street toward the Pamet Marsh.
