Top story: Pedestrian struck and seriously injured in Hyannis


HYANNIS
 - (WXTK) A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in downtown Hyannis on Monday. It happened around 11 a.m.at the corner of Pleasant Street and East Main Street.

Reports from the scene indicate a Land Rover Discovery was waiting for a person to move through the crosswalk when it was struck from behind by a BMW sedan.

The force of the crash pushed the Land Rover into the pedestrian. The unidentified victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

Car rear-ends school bus in Falmouth


FALMOUTH
 - A scare for some Falmouth students headed home when a car rear-ends their school bus. The crash happened Monday on Sandwich Road near Chilmark Drive about 3:15 p.m. The bus was stopped with warning lights on to discharge students when the Buick Century went under the rear of the bus. The driver of the car was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. None of the students nor the bus driver were hurt. The students were put on another bus to continue their ride home. Falmouth Police are investigating the collision.

Two injured in three-vehicle crash in Cotuit


COTUIT 
- Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Cotuit around noon Monday.

A Buick Park Avenue stuck a Chrysler Pacifica broadside at the intersection of Route 28 and Santuit-Newtown Road.

A Ford Escape apparently swerved to avoid the collision and crashed on the far side of the road.

Rescuers had to extricate one person using the Jaws of Life.

The crash is under investigation by Barnstable Police.

Fall victim MedFlighted from Bourne
BOURNE
 - A man was seriously injured after reportedly falling two stories late Monday morning. The incident happened in Plymouth but the victim's friends brought him to a clinic in Bourne. Paramedics rushed the victim to the State Police barracks to meet a MedFlight helicopter which transported him to a Providence hospital. Further details were not immediately available.

Yarmouth Police make alcohol-related arrests over weekend
WEST YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police arrested four drunk drivers and summonsed ten underage drinkers over the weekend. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Internet safety meeting at D-Y Monday night
SOUTH YARMOUTH - There will be an open meeting Monday evening at 7 p.m. for parents, staff and the public with Assistant District Attorney Jennifer McNulty at the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Auditorium at 210 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. ADA McNulty will present information on the dangers associated with the Internet, cell phones, and texting/sexting.

Driver walks away from Route 6 rollover
BARNSTABLE - The driver of a car that went out of control and rolled over on Route 6 was able to walk away from the wreck. The crash happened about 2:45 p.m. on the westbound side just past Exit 6. The driver was walking around outside the vehicle which had flipped into the median. Barnstable rescuers treated the driver at the scene but he declined to go the hospital. State Police are invesigating the crash.
