
PROVINCETOWN - The Coast Guard is searching for two fishermen after they were reported overdue Monday, at approximately 8 a.m. Missing is the 50-year-old captain and 25-year-old crewman aboard the 45-foot fishing vessel Foxy Lady II, homeported in Gloucester, Mass.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Boston were notified at 8:05 a.m. Monday by the captain's girlfriend reporting that the fishing vessel had not returned as planned on Saturday night, and the last time she had spoken with him Saturday between 6 a.m. and 12 a.m. via text messages. The Foxy Lady II crew had departed Saturday morning.
The last known location of the Foxy Lady II is approximately 15 miles north of Provincetown in the area of Stellwagen Bank.

Cape public safety officials reassure parents schools are safe
CAPE COD - Public safety officials are reassuring parents that Cape schools are safe as classes resume for the first time since the Connecticut shootings. Yarmouth Police Chief Frank Frederickson issued the following message to the Yarmouth community:
“As a parent and your Chief of Police, I want you to know that your school officials and the Yarmouth Police Department have incorporated a number of the best security measures, plans, and training in order to deter, prevent, and respond to unpredictable incidents like this recent tragedy.
“There is no indication that any other schools have been targeted. However, we want you to be aware that during the coming days the Yarmouth Police Department, together with our two full-time Yarmouth Police School Resource Officers, we will provide a more visible and vigilant presence at our schools without disrupting normal school activities.
“Please be confident that we are committed to providing you with the best protection possible. Thank you for your unwavering support of law enforcement in our community. We are dedicated to keeping your children safe and are working diligently to make our Town of Yarmouth the safest community in the region.
