Motor scooter rider down in Dennisport

DENNISPORT – A man riding a motor scooter was apparently hit by a car around 4:45 p.m. Monday on Route 28 across from Luke’s Liquors. He ended up sprawled face down in the parking lot of the Dennis Town Hall annex at 465 Main Street (Route 28). He reportedly suffered a shoulder injury and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Dennis Fire Rescue.
Dennis Police are investigating the incident.

Woman safe after falling in water while boarding ferry
PROVINCETOWN - A woman was quickly rescued after falling off a gangway into Provincetown Harbor while boarding a Boston ferry at MacMillan Wharf around 11 a.m. It was not immediately clear how the accident occurred. The victim was evaluated by EMTs but declined to go to the hospital.
Former Cape radio man killed in Cotuit head-on crash

COTUIT - (with WXTK) A head-on crash injured killed one person and injured three others, two seriously. The crash happened about 10:45 p.m. on Falmouth Road (Route 28) near Santuit-Newtown Road. A Ford Ranger pickup truck collided with a Ford Taurus sedan. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free at least one of the victims. A MedFlight helicopter was requested but unable to respond due to weather. A Mass Casualty Incident brought in ambulances from Mashpee and Centerville-Ostervillle-Marstons Mills. The driver of the pickup, Tighe Jensen, 53, of Centerville was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Jensen was a former Cape Cod radio announcer and most recently a voice-over artist for local and national businesses. The driver of the Taurus, Brian Whittemore, 30, of Hyannis was taken to Cape Cod Hospital. A passenger in his vehicle, Chris Marciezyk, 27, of Mashpee was rushed to South Shore Hospital trauma center in Weymouth. Both suffered injuries described as serious but non life-threatening. A second passenger Daniel Toomey, 20, of Mashpee was taken to Falmouth Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Route 28 was completely blocked by the wreckage causing traffic tie ups.Meanwhile, Also in Cotuit, a driver escaped injury after the vehicle he was driving rolled on its roof near the entrance to Oregon Beach about 9:10 p.m. Barnstable Police are investigating both crashes.
