Brothers arrested for double stabbing in Yarmouth
YARMOUTH - Two people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital after both were stabbed at a West Yarmouth residence Thursday evening during an apparent home invasion. The incident happened at 20 Courtland Way about 9 p.m. Multiple Yarmouth Police units were canvasing the area looking for suspects. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.

Dennis Police tell CWN that Thursday at approximately 9 p.m. the Dennis Police Department was informed by the Yarmouth Police Department that they had probable cause for the arrest of Matthew and Ryan Tottingham (both 25 years of age of Harwich). Both individuals are suspected of breaking into their victims’ home in Yarmouth and attacking them.

On Friday at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Dennis Police received a 911 cell phone call for a domestic in East Dennis.  Officers arrived at the home and found the front door had been kicked in. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the Tottingham brothers were involved but they had left the scene before the officers arrived.

A search was conducted by the Dennis Police Department with the help of the Harwich, Brewster, Yarmouth and State Police. The Tottingham brothers were taken into custody after a three-hour search. Dennis Police have charged Matthew Tottingham with Breaking & Entering and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous weapon. Both Tottingham brothers were released to the Yarmouth Police Department on their charges of Home Invasion and Assault and Battery with intent to Murder (Stabbing).
