Man facing numerous charges after failing to stop through three towns
TRURO - A local man is under arrest after failing to stop for police through three towns. Truro Police Lt. Craig Danziger attempted to stop a vehicle with a tree branch protruding from one it its headlights. The driver took off, allegedly trying to hit Lt. Danziger's cruiser forcing him to swerve. The driver's flight came to an end at the Brackett Road lights in Eastham where several officers subdued him as seen in this photo from a Cape Wide News reader.

Truro Police identify the driver as Raymond J. Nolin III, 53, of Orleans. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (car), operating recklessly to endanger. defective equipment, speeding, and resisting arrest. He is being held at the Barnstable House of Correction on $2,500 bail.

Second victim of Bourne crash passes away
BOURNE

Barbara Nix, 82, the driver of a Toyota Corolla reportedly struck head-on by a Toyota pickup on Sandwich Road February 15th has passed away at a Boston hospital. Her passenger, Hope Brooks, 81, of Forestdale died the day of the crash after being rushed to Tobey Hospital in Wareham. The pickup driver, Zachary Jamous, 20, of Harwich was also taken to a Boston hospital and later released. He has been charged by police with motor vehicle homicide.

YPD participates in Read Across America Day
YARMOUTH
- Today 
from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., the Yarmouth Police Department will participate in the nationwide “Read Across America Celebration- Dr. Seuss Day” for students at the Marguerite E. Small Elementary School in West Yarmouth and the Station Avenue Elementary School in South Yarmouth.

Several Yarmouth Police Officers, including Yarmouth Police Chief Frank G. Frederickson and Deputy Police Chief Steven G. Xiarhos, have volunteered to take part in the celebration as part of a group of guest readers from the community to promote literacy with the students in memory of Theodore Geisel—better known as Dr. Seuss—on his birthday.

Dr. Seuss who was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, wrote 44 popular children's books including favorites Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
