Vehicle vs house hit-and-run

WEST DENNIS
– Sometime between 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, a vehicle hit a house at 129 Indian Pond Road and drove away.

The dramatic evidence at the scene indicates that the vehicle was headed west on Woodland Drive between Trotting Park Road and Indian Pond traveling at a very high rate of speed.

The driver apparently tried to take a left turn on Indian Pond but failed to negotiate the right-angle intersection. Instead, the vehicle crashed through a fence, sideswiped the house, and, continuing its turn, tore through some vegetation and re-emerged onto Indian Pond headed south.

Besides the damage to the fence and vegetation, the vehicle plowed up the front lawn, dislodged bricks in the walkway, damaged the frame of a bay window and ripped a gutter off the house.

The Dennis Police Department is asking for your help in identifying the vehicle and locating the driver. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the passenger side including a broken window and doorpost. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dennis Police Department at 508-394-1315 or the DPD tip line at 774-352-1500.
