August 24, 2012 (MASHPEE) Governor Deval Patrick says he’s thankful for the recently signed gaming compact with the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe and the economic development it will bring.            

Patrick was in Mashpee yesterday to meet with tribal members and celebrate the milestone.            

He praised the negotiating teams from the state and the tribe – saying it reflects the best interests of the tribe and the Commonwealth.            

Tribal Chairman Cedric Cromwell says the deal will give the Wampanoag long-term economic stability – while creating hundreds of new jobs for the region.
