August 24, 2012 (FALMOUTH) A group opposed to the Cape Wind Farm has appealed a federal ruling that says the project poses no danger to airplanes, saying the decision is steeped in politics.
The FAA last week issued a determination of "no hazard" for the 130-turbine project off Cape Cod.
An appeals court had forced the FAA to reconsider a previous approval.
In its appeal -- the alliance to protect Nantucket Sound says the FAA put politics ahead of public safety.
FAA documents have shown employees felt political pressure to approve Cape Wind.
A Cape Wind spokesman said the appeal has dim prospects.
