July 19, 2012 (CAPE COD) Storms brought high winds, and brief heavy rainfall to much of eastern Massachusetts yesterday.            

Cape Cod was hit late in the afternoon -- with thunder and lighting. A strike near the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown caused problems with their alarm system.            

A cottage in Truro on Coast Guard Road struck by lightning was heavily damage by fire.            

There were also scattered reports of power lines coming down in the late afternoon.            

The north shore of the state took a big hit with significant flooding and reports of hail. About 30,000 people stateside were without power at the height of the storms.
