The committee was hearing a bill that would cap the film tax credits at $7 million and exclude anyone whose salary tops $1 million from being eligible.
The governor is proposing to cap the tax credits at $50 million a year.
Provincetown State Representative Sarah Peake has previously said she'll oppose Patrick's plan -- saying the tax credits create economic activity in Massachusetts.
Plymouth Rock Studios has been looking to locate a major production facility in Plymouth -- but has run into financial problems.
