11/16 (Wareham) The Wareham fire district’s water system recently tested positive for coli form bacteria

November 16, 2011 (WAREHAM) The Wareham fire district’s water system recently tested positive for coli form bacteria.

Officials say five of 35 samples recently taken detected the coli form.

But despite the findings – water officials say there is no need to boil water unless you have a severely compromised immune system.

The samples were taken from the Bourne Hill water tower on October 24th and 26th. While coli form bacteria was detected – there was no presence of e-coli bacteria.

The effected tank was isolated and disinfected and recently tested clean.
