October 12, 2011 (BOSTON) The Chicago Cubs are reportedly on the verge of raiding the Boston Red Sox of their general manager.

A person familiar with the situation tells the Associated Press that Theo Epstein is likely to join the cubs within the next 48 hours.

Chicago fired General Manager Jim Hendry two months ago and has been pursuing Epstein, who directed Boston to two world series wins.
